Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A chopper soaring over a crowded California shoreline abruptly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Videos shared on social media show the chopper starting to spin above the shoreline then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were rushed to the hospital involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the road were injured. Details on their wounds were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
