The Prince of Wales Set for UN Climate Summit in South America

The Prince of Wales is scheduled to participate in the key Cop30 in the South American nation next month, though the PM's attendance is still undecided.

The Prince will present the global environmental award and engage with the conference of officials from in excess of 190 countries in the Brazilian city.

Climate Experts Welcome Royal Attendance

Climate specialists praised the royal's involvement. A sustainability expert noted that it would boost what is likely to be a challenging meeting, where world agreement on new objectives for reducing climate pollutants is required.

"Is Prince William attendance at Cop a stunt? Yes. But that doesn't mean it's a poor decision," she commented. "The summit has long been as much about so-called 'optics' as it is about discussions. The Prince's commitment will almost certainly inspire other leaders to commit, and will capture worldwide attention."

Prime Minister's Attendance Still Unconfirmed

The PM has yet to announce if he will participate in the conference, to which every global leaders are asked, with many set to attend. He was heavily criticised by prominent sustainability leaders for showing indecision on the choice in recent weeks.
